Enterprises University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd (Enterprises UP) is a company wholly-owned by the University of Pretoria and manages the commercial research, consulting and training activities of the University of Pretoria.
The Research and Consulting Solutions division at Enterprises UP has a vacant positon for a Business Developer whose key outputs include business intelligence generation, conceptualisation of solutions and services, new business generation, project administration and reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and qualifications:
• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• A tertiary qualification of at least 3 years in duration/ degree, preferably in the areas of Business Management/Commerce/Marketing/Social Sciences (NQF Level 7).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• South African citizen.
Knowledge, skills and experience (minimum of 3-5 years):
• Business Development (Sales/Marketing/Consulting).
• Advanced knowledge in applied research methodology would be an added advantage.
• Project management.
• Tender compilation and drafting of proposals and budgets.
• Generation of business intelligence on clients, industries and market segments.
• Analytical skills.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
• Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Attention to detail and deadline-driven.
• Good interpersonal skills and strong ability to network.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a high level of emotional intelligence.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Explore and generate business opportunities via tenders and direct marketing initiatives and meet set targets.
• Project management and administration.
Executed through:
• Development of a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
• Conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs.
• Arranging business meetings with prospective clients.
• Conceptualisation of clients’ needs and development of proposals.
• Promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
• Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
• Preparing contracts and ensuring adherence to governance principles.
• Monitoring sales, debtors, etc.
