Enterprises University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd is the commercial hub that manages and implements business activities for the University of Pretoria (UP). As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University, Enterprises UP oversees the execution of commercial research and training activities.

The Finance division has a vacant position of a Compliance Officer. This pivotal role ensures the company’s adherence to statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements.
As a Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct across the company. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance policies and governance frameworks that align with our strategic objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration or Finance.
• Membership/qualification through Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA) will be an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license.
• South African citizen.


Knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Compliance or risk management roles (Minimum 5 years).
• Statutory requirements, procedures and protocols responsibilities (Minimum 5 years).
• General Financial/Administration/Business practices (Minimum 5 years).
• Certificate in compliance or ethics is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks (e.g., POPIA, EE Act, OHSA, B-BBEE Codes).
• Ability to interpret policies and regulatory documents.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and advisory capabilities.
• Strong moral code and sense of ethics.
• Attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Statutory and regulatory compliance including but not limited to:
• Compliance to statutory company submissions.
• Health and Safety regulations.
• Employment Equity.
• POPIA compliance.
• B-BBEE scorecard continuity and compliance.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant legislation.
• Keep abreast of statutory changes that may affect company policies and frameworks.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate and prepare documentation for the annual B-BBEE scorecard audit.
• Drive and monitor action items related to the B-BBEE scorecard strategy for the current financial year.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters.
• Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct across the organization.
